Hello, K-pop fans!
SM Entertainment has just announced their Q2 2024 financial results. They achieved a revenue of 253.9 billion KRW, marking a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The rise in revenue is attributed to higher album sales and concerts, though operating profit saw a decline of 30.7%.
On a standalone basis, SM reported a revenue of 174.1 billion KRW and an operating profit of 29.3 billion KRW, reflecting increases of 25.4% and 4.6%, respectively. The growth is largely due to new album releases and increased concert activities.
Looking ahead, there's much to be excited about! The second half of the year will bring NCT 127’s new album, aespa and RIIZE’s Japanese singles, and the debut of the UK-based boy group 'DEAR ALICE'. Additionally, NCT WISH and SHINee’s Key will release new music, and virtual artist nævis is set to debut.
